Calendar Catcher Privacy Policy

Calendar Catcher turns text messages, emails, photos of flyers or tickets, and voice
recordings into calendar events, reminders, tasks, or emails. This page explains what
information the app handles to do that, and how.
What the app reads from you, and why
- Whatever you paste, photograph, dictate, or share into it. This is the
content the app exists to process — a text message, a photo of a flyer, a voice note, a shared
email. It's sent to an AI service (see "AI extraction" below) to pull out event details like
title, date, time, and location.
- Your device calendar. With your permission, the app reads your existing
calendars (to list them and check for conflicts) and writes new events to whichever calendar you
choose.
- Microphone audio, only while you're actively dictating — converted to text
on your device and then handled like any other typed input.
- Photos you choose or take through the app's own photo/camera picker — never
your full photo library without you explicitly picking an image.
Connected accounts (Microsoft and Google)
Connecting a Microsoft or Google account is optional, and only used for the features you
explicitly turn on:
- Calendar — creating, and later deleting, the specific events you add through
the app on that account's calendars.
- Mail — sending an email on your behalf only when you tap something like
"Email me a summary" or a similar explicit action. The app never reads your inbox.
- Tasks — creating tasks in Microsoft To Do / Google Tasks when you choose to
add something as a task instead of a calendar event.
- Contacts — searching your connected account's own contacts/frequent
collaborators, only to suggest names as you type an attendee's email into the invite field. The
app doesn't read, store, or otherwise use your address book beyond that live search.
You can disconnect either account at any time from the app's Settings screen, which stops all of
the above immediately.
AI extraction
To turn your text, photo, or audio into structured event details, the app sends that content to
one of three AI providers — Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic — through our own backend relay
(a Cloudflare Worker). Which provider is used depends on your Settings choice; you can also supply
your own personal API key for a provider instead of using the app's shared one.
Our relay does not store or log the content you send through it — it forwards your request to
the AI provider and returns the result. Each AI provider processes that content under its own
privacy policy and terms:
What stays on your device
The people/roster list (names, relationships, aliases you've taught the app to recognize),
your preferences, your recent-invitee list, and your undo/add history are all stored locally on
your device, not on our servers. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data, to anyone, ever.
- We don't use your calendar, contacts, or captured content for advertising.
- We don't access your accounts for anything beyond the specific action you took (adding an
event, sending a summary you asked for, etc.).
Children's privacy
Calendar Catcher is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too. Material changes will be
noted in the app's release notes.
